1970 Honda Trail 70.

I hung around as the judges went over the buggy until I found out the Judges were deducting points because it was original flawless gelcoat and it had "old tires and old style wheels on it" It has 4 original Parnelli Jones raised white letter tires in perfect condition and white steel wheels. When I mentioned something to the judge he said it is more work to paint a buggy so painted buggys get extra points. I mentioned that this buggy is 26 years old and without a scratch. Needless to say my buggy will never be in that show.

1 Owner/Builder Manx. I met this gentleman at the Mofoco Bug Show 5 or 6 years ago. He built the Buggy while he was in High School and the car was stored in his parents garage since High School. 20 years later he cleaned it up got it running and entered this pristine buggy in the show.

ORANGE MANX ENGINE

The rocker arm on the left is a 1.25:1 rocker and the one on the right is a stock VW type 1.
Notice the location of the pushrod pocket. The ratio rockers were purchased from CB Performance.

It just caught my eye.

BRAKE,TAIL,TURN RELAYS and wiring schematic. Relay conversion for 2 element Stop/Turn to 1 element stop/turn, utilizing VW turn signal switch.

"Flat 4" shifter is a copy of a vintage EMPI shifter. I have one of these shifters in my Baja Bug and after 2 years,I think for the money.$70.00, it's the best shifter on the market.

Many people use these little devils for nuts to bolt the hoods down on their Manx style buggys.

My Beater 69 Baja.
I bought it to part out (buggy parts) when I got it home I realized it was rust free. I fixed the brakes,did some straghtening out of the electrical system, got the engine to run and have been driving it, trouble free, for the last 3 years.

Early style VW throwout bearing.
