Carbs bolted on to check for clearance - still tossing up cutting access panels in fender wells.

Fibreglass cylinder covers in place and 36hp style doghouse shround bolted up to check fit.

Had to cut off rear piece of doghouse shroud to enable the type IV oil cooler to fit.

Fibreglass cover to fit in that big cooler.

Alternator was hitting stand on front lip before it was fully seated in cradle. After much fine tuning to shroud and cylinder covers it still didn't fit. Had to send stand back to supplier to get a new one that had less material ground from the cradle.

Back edge of cradle you can see the gap.

Had to cut holes in the shroud for the oil lines to the cooler.

Alternator pulley didn'tline up with crank pulley so a combination of pulleys and minor mods lined them up okay.

AN fittings for reg and carbs.

Pressure gauge will help dial fuel delivery in.

Decided to spruce up the fanshroud with some flames - masked it up and scuffed up using a scotch brite pad.

Here is the colour matched (to powdercoating) base coat laid down..

Highlighted flames with some silver tips...clearcoat still to come. Ran out of time this weekend.

Pulled the masking off carefully - still have to do the highlights for the flames and then clearcoat.

Clearcoated the fanshroud - started striping the flames but looked very ordinary so quickly wiped it off and just cleaned up edges and clearcoated.

Trial fit of the dizzy etc....carbs are just perched on top for the moment.

Started fiddling with the engine bay today...nice change from body work! Cut the first bit of braided s/s fuel line and fitted it (firewall to regulator).

Was going to put carbs in to cut the fuel line from reg to carbs but manifolds are away being HPC'ed with exhaust so that will have to wait.

The forward-most cooling "tin" piece will be painted (still in primer) after some more holes are drilled to route the -10 breather lines (braided s/s) from valve covers up to custom breather box (yet to be constructed from s/s as well).

Its all in the details so they say....here is a bit of billet aluminium that I cut, shaped and polished to cover the holes the oil lines go through in the shroud. Took bloody ages but worth it (in my opinion anyway!).

Started to plumb up the fuel lines from reg to carbs (bolted them up after I collected the manifolds after HPCing). Alternator pulley HPCed as well (didn't like the silver powdercoating it was previously in). Fuel line will be secured to firewall so don't worry bout that floppy line in the pic!
