Because of the custom chassis work I had to cut a hole under the back seat to gain access to the shift rod coupler.

Another shot of the coupler. If you have a urethane coupler (like in the picture) get rid of it. If you are thinking of installing a urethane coupler, don't. They are truly JUNK. This is the last time this coupler was ever seen.

Checkout the shiny spot where thay capped off the old filler neck. Now we know where the spyder crack came from in the hood.

There is a puddle of fuel in the fuel gauge sending unit. That explains the fuel smell in the cockpit.

Paul's Flowmaster conversion. Not the prettiest muffler but it does sound great.

Under the dash wiring...The wiring came thru the body in 8 different places.

The new fuse panel is installed along with some of the new wiring.

New taillight wiring

The coil is now remounted away from the vibration and heat of the engine.

So I don't have to use a 4 relay setup for the turnsignals or mount another taillight for the turn signals on each side. I decided to just add another bulb to the exsisting lights. Here is a picture of the socket installed.

The fixture requred a divider between the bulbs so you could see the turn signal bulb when brake light bulb is on.

The new steering coupler is installed. The original coupler was just a few hours away from failure.

The new Thom Leduc high performance close ratio transaxle is now installed.

BLUGGY DASH

New Bugpack breather is mounted and plumbed and the new Kennedy pressure plate is installed.

The exhaust looks better now that it's been sandblasted and painted with Caterpiller "Black muffler paint"

There is a 50 amp manually resetable circuit breaker that all the electrical runs thru.

Flanges now replace the slip joint on the front pipes as per Pauls request.

Deb now has a custom "one off", billet aluminum turn signal lever on her buggy. I couldn't resist spending a little time on the lathe.

Paul brought the rather flimsy body to a fiberglass shop and had them shoot the underside of the body with fiberglass to reinforce it. While they had it he had them shoot it with a metalflake blue gelcoat. This picture is the start of the reassembly process.
The laptop is being used to look at pictures of the wiring that were taken during disassembly to aid in reassembly.

The finish is a little orange peely but it still looks a bunch better then it used to. I think it will holdup to the kids jumping in and out of the back seat better then paint would.
