The finished product. No new holes were drilled in the car. It uses existing mounting points.

We started by making a front bulkhead out of 3/8" plywood.

The bulkhead was made out of 2 pieces to get a better fit to the side walls, floor & tunnel area.

The bulkhead has a 2X3" across the top to attach stringers to the rear roof support structure.

I made some "L" shaped parts out of 1 X 1/8" steel strapping to connect to the roof support structure.

We made a cross piece out of 2X3" wood to hold the top hinge in place.

After the support structure was in place, we made side panels which have a shelf to hold the movable top in place.

Both side panels are shown here. They are made of 1/2" plywood.

We made the top panel next. It is also made of 1/2" plywood. The rear portion is not moveable.

Box closed. We later added a hasp to be able to lock the cover closed.

Box 1/2 open. We later hung the mini spare tire here behind the passenger seat.

Box fully open. It is a bi-fold door to provide great access to the storage space.

We also made a cover for the area that would be behind the rear seats so it wouldn't get scratched up from putting stuff on it.
