EJ25 Single Turbo for Kathleen's Manxter. We have to finish off the exhaust after the bumper is in place.

Another view of EJ25, no "J" tube. This will save hacking up the "firewall" behind the rear seats, but will require more clearance cuts in the engine cover. This engine was built by Outback (Outfront) Motorsports.

Because of issues with the new watercooled style sidepods not matching the old body, we have to re-body the car.

This is the 1st attempt at putting the motor in the chassis. The 2 lower bolts in the adapter plate interfere with the rear transaxle mounts. Also, nothing can extend beyond the face of the bellhousing, or it will hit the plate.

Rear transaxle mounts with clearance cuts for bolts on engine adapter. See picture #4 to see why this had to be done.

I made a three sided rolling stand for the motor to make it easier to handle when it is not in the car.

Radiator mock up #1. The pink styrofoam represents the 2" thick 14" X 16" core & the white styrofoam is the fan sitting next to the mock up. The black line above the radiator represents the side of the tub. Very little clearance.

Radiator mock up #2. After trying the radiator both horizontal & vertical, there is more room to do it vertical, The problem is the depth of the pod, not length or width.

04/14/08 The custom made radiators have arrived. On the left is the left side radiator.

The engine came with a 228 MM Stage 2 KEP clutch which will require some clearancing in the bell housing.

We had to do a lot of clearancing of the bellhousing. the rough areas are where we ground out material.

We also had to remove material off the pressure plate tabs & rivets.

05/18/08 We finally have the engine in. All of the accessories now get hooked up. We still have to get the wiring hooked up.

Beefed up transaxle with Gene Berg mounts. We also added a Beef -a- diff, stronger 1st & 2nd gear shaft & changed the gear spacing. 930 CV's and axles will also be used.

Engine mounted in car for 1st time with body on chassis.

Firewall fit up. Now that the engine is in, we know how much (or little) room we have to work with. 3/3/08

New "firewall" which will be used to mount final fuel filter, ECU, coolant fill & oil breather. 5/16" thick to be able to drill & tap into to mount these things.

The firewall get it's equipment added. (left to right) ECU, oil breather, expansion tank & final fuel filter. The expansion tank may have to move higher and towards the rear of the car more.

1st attempt at using the Earl's supply tubing beader on the 1 1/2" .035 wall tubing that will be used for radiator lines. Works great!

A holder for the tubing so it can be bent instead of kinked. We will fill the tube with sand also. Yet to try this out.

The Harbor Freight "Kinker" lives up to it's name. The tubing was filled with sand. Time for plan "B".

The upper bumper mounts were moved from between the shock & shock mount to outboard of the shock mount to help raise the lower mounts. I also made a cross bar to support radiator tubes.

New throttle link places cable in center of valley in manifold. Now we have to make a mount for the cable sheath.

New stainless steel 13 gallon fuel tank has arrived. You can see the fuel injection required sump on the bottom.

Fuel tank by Rock Valley Antique Auto parts. It will have to be tweeked a little.

The high pressure fuel pump and pre-fuel pump filter have been installed.
